A dog’s skin and coat naturally renew on a regular cycle, which is why grooming every 4 weeks is often recommended. Routine grooming helps maintain healthy skin and coat condition, supports temperature regulation, and protects against environmental irritants. Proper coat care is important for overall health, and in most cases, shaving down a coat is not the best way to keep a dog cool, since the coat also serves as natural protection for the skin.

Hi, I’m Uncle Craig, and I’m glad you’re here. Thank you for taking the time to prioritize your pet’s health and wellbeing. I have been a professional groomer for over 30 years, graduating from the Pennsylvania Academy of Pet Grooming in 1997. Since then, I have continued to grow my skills through ongoing education, including Groom Expo attendance, certification programs, and specialized training in coat care, handling techniques, safety, sanitation, and canine massage. I am also currently expanding my knowledge in skin restoration and Reiki healing.

Over the years, I’ve learned that every dog is different, and understanding coat type and condition is key to providing the right care. My goal is to create a calm, stress-free grooming experience tailored to each individual dog, while prioritizing safety, comfort, and long-term coat health.
